This award-winning mural celebrates the first 100 years of social work at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland.  It features the dome of the original Johns Hopkins Administration Building, as well as other Baltimore landmarks, such as the city's famous brick row houses, the Baltimore Aquarium, the Baltimore World Trade Center, the Bromo-Seltzer Tower,  and the Chesapeake Bay at  Inner Harbor.

Inclusion Tiles on Bottom Panel

Is Sarah already dreaming of the next mosaic commission?

The mural consists of three panels, which, when installed, measure 7' x 5'.  The mosaic consists of stained glass tiles, as well as inclusion tiles.  Inclusion tiles contain authentic photographs from Johns Hopkins Hospital archives and text that tells the history of social work at the hospital.

Presented to JHH President in 2007

When it appeared that the large mosaic would not be framed in time for the unveiling, we designed this plaque to be displayed at the gala and given to the Johns Hopkins Hospital President.  Fortunately, the large mosaic was ready in time and both mosaics were on display.

This mosaic measures about 3' x 5' and is designed to be displayed on an easel (not shown).  It includes many features of the large mural.  Can you find landmark buildings--such as the BromoSeltzer Tower, the Aquarium, the Baltimore World Trade Center and the famous brick row houses?
